The smaller version of Asus’s popular Zenfone smartphone is called Asus Zenfone 8 Mini. Although the name suggests, otherwise, the Asus Zenfone 8 Mini retains a full layer of high-end specifications such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC and high-update rate screens. Like its predecessors, the Asus Zenfone 8 will feature a number of redesigns, most of which provide similar specifications.

As reported by XDA, theĀ  Zenfone 8 Mini (codename sake) will have a 5.9-inch FHD + OLED screen with an update rate of 120 Hz. While it is unclear how many rear camera modules the device will pack, one of them is set to be a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, while the other is yet to be released as a Sony IMX663 lens. We are seeing a leaked version of the Asus Zenfone 8’s (code name Picasso) camera system.

As part of the camera configuration, the ASUS Zenfone 8’s includes 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, 12.2MP Sony IMX363 sensor and 8MP telephoto sensor. The fourth lens can also be omitted, but it is not clear at this point. As we can see, both the Zenfone 8 Mini and Zenfone 8 share camera hardware. Therefore, it is reasonable to assume that the specifications on the camera are nearly identical if they are not identical. Apart from this, Asus Zenfone 8 also has PixelWorks i6 visual processor, which is on the recently launched Asus ROG Phone 5.
